Imbabazi Orphanage Rosamond Halsey Carr founded the Imbabazi Orphanage in her adopted country of Rwanda in 1993 to provide a safe place for children orphaned by the genocide. Since that time Roz and her staff have cared for more than 400 children. Currently there are more than 100 orphans under her care.
Through the Eyes of Children This project began as a photographic workshop in 2000, conceived by photographer, David Jiranek, and inspired by the founder of the Imbabazi Orphanage, Rosamond Carr. Using disposable cameras, the children originally took pictures for themselves and to share with others. This website gives a timeline of recent Rwandan history and also chronicles the life of Rosamond Carr.
